Operations Overview

SoundCommerce Operations extends orders analysis by including shipping and fulfillment data. This addition gives you a more in-depth view of how well your logistics are performing from a dollar standpoint and how it can contribute to your overall contribution profit. This can help you determine which customers are returning what items at what frequency, the approximate delay between placing an order and receiving it, etc.

SoundCommerce Operations Module

How we model the data

To get a comprehensive view of total orders, order fulfillments, and tracking data, we join two different types of data, described as follows.  

We understand that most businesses may have numerous operations and logistic sources. To keep things simple here, we refer to these data sources by their functional category. 

Operational data

Your operational data tells us how orders are broken into different fulfillments. This breakdown may introduce additional complexity as one order may comprise multiple separate fulfillments, each with its unique fulfillment path. Operational data can be found in sources like Manhattan Active Omni, various carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx), Oracle NetSuite, etc.

Orders data
This category groups all orders from eCommerce, retail stores (POS), and apps. This data provides accurate order counts, but orders can't be reliably attributed to a specific ad campaign without additional programming logic and effort.

Module ERD

The ERD below illustrates the relationships between the views that comprise the Operations module. This module contains the following views:

• Standard Views
  • sc_order_fulfillments (additional data beyond what is available from the Core Module)
  • sc_order_fulfillment_items (additional data beyond what is available from the Core Module)
  • sc_inventory_by_location
